Using the Family App

The Acacia INVU Care Network is an invitation-only network. You are not able to self-register online. If you have a family member or friend receiving care from an Acacia INVU Care Network provider they will provide you with your access credentials after obtaining permission from the patient under their care.

Configuration/Settings

For your privacy and security please take some time to review the app settings and configure the Family App for your needs.

Setting up your profile:

To edit your profile information, tap on the menu icon in the upper left corner, then select My Profile:

  • Here you can set your gender along with your time zone.
  • Be sure to upload a profile picture by tapping on the camera icon above your name. Setting this is important as this photo will be displayed when you place video calls to the tablet. See the Upload Photos section below for additional instructions. You can either upload a picture from your gallery or take a new picture with your phone’s camera. After selecting / taking a photo you can edit the size and direction of the photo, select DONE in the bottom right corner to upload the photo to the INVU Care Network.

Uploading Photos

How & Why

To upload a photo to your family member’s tablet, select the Photos button, then the camera icon at the bottom of the screen. You can either upload a picture from the gallery or take a new picture with your phone’s camera. After selecting or taking a photo you can edit the size and direction of the photo, select DONE in the bottom right corner to upload the photo to the tablet. Uploading photos to the tablet is important because your family member will feel a stronger connection to the family. Try to upload a few new photos each week, to provide them with fresh content on the photo rotator.



Video Calls

Tapping on this button will initiate a video call to your family members tablet. To use this feature, you must first install the Zoom application on your phone. Please install the Zoom Application to start sending video calls to the tablet.) Go to Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and search for “Zoom Cloud Meeting” (see screenshot). Download and install the Zoom application. After installing the application, pressing this button will take you to the Zoom website, here you will be asked to open the Zoom application where the call to the tablet will be created for you.

Daily Status

If you see this message here, you can tap on the question mark to send a message to the tablet with a “How are you feeling” survey attached. Once the survey has been filled out you will be able to see their response in the same location, after refreshing your page.

Sending Messages

To send a message to the tablet, select the side menu icon in the upper left corner, then select Send Message. This will take you to a page where you can input a subject line along with a message. When you are done with your message select SEND.


Care Journal

Tapping on Care Journal will take you to see the ongoing list of weekly Care Journal Entries from the Care Manager. You will have the ability to ask questions or make comments on each Care Journal Entry by selecting the green Write Comment button.
